  • Hi,

Just wanted to say well done on the website and the general care and intrest taken in where you live, I live not so far away and several attempts have been made to set something similar up by individuals but nothing as yet,
Well done again and keep up the good work..

  • Hi Residents Association, I am just back from a week end away and there is a burnt out car just outside my back window, in the car parking space beside my back garden. Don’t know what the house number is for that area though. Any one knows anything about what happened? A bit worrying that cars are set on fire in our neighbourhood… Not sure if garda were informed. Look forward to hearing any news on it. Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Alessandra, which area of the estate was this? I live on the through road (112) and didnt see or hear anything so apologies that I cannot be of any help.

  • All – an update on the burned car… I called Garda for information and they said they are aware of it and that it was a stolen car. The council have already been notified and requested to take it away. Very strange place to bring a stolen car and burn it… in the middle of a housing estate… and maybe worrying that it happened in OUR estate.

  • I live in 138 and the burnt out car is right outside my door. I rang Fingal who said the estate hasn’t been handed over to them. I then rang the police who will not take responsibility for it, they said its the car owner’s responsibility. The owner of the car has since moved out of his address (right beside were the car was burnt out, reckons it was robbed on him moved 2 feet and then burnt out). I then rang Cumiskey’s to see who is actually in charge in of the estate but to no avail. Can anyone advise, as people are starting to put rubbish in it now, its unsightly and dangerous for the children playing around it. Thanks Karen.

  • Hya Karen, just rang the Dept of Env in Fingal County Council and she said that the owner of the vehicle has come forward and claimed it. The owner, of whoever has claimed it, have also agreed to pay for the removal of it – a form has been sent out to them to fill in and send back with fee…….to be honest, I wouldnt hold my breath but we’ll see……..!!!

  • hi,
i live at 253 and last week i emptied my black bin, y’know with the 8euro tag. i just opened the bin today and it is full again! apparently someone did some clearing out in their home and decided i should be the one to pay to get their rubbish disposed of! this is absolutely annoying. dont know if anyone has had a similar experience. could a neighbour actually do that to someone?

    Comment by Ify — June 25, 2009
  • Yes unfortunately Ify- it happened to my neighbour too on mon/tues just gone. We are v tempted (but reluctant to for obvious reasons) to go through the rubbish they left in the hope of finding an address…

  • We had a similar experience of someone dropping their bin bag at our front garden, next to our bins. We were very annoyed and decided to go trough the rubbish. We found correspondence with an address so we ‘delivered’ the rubbish back to its rightful owner. (It was an address in our estate)

  • Yeah, same happened me too. I’m going to go through the bin and hopefully find an address. I’ll happilly name and shame the guilty party.

  • Hi, just wondering if any parents with toddlers/babies in our estate would be interested in meeting up for coffee? …I’ve a 2year old daughter and a two month old son neither are old enough to go outside and make friends on their own yet! but thought it might be nice to introduce them to others their own age in the estate (well more the 2yo not the baby! :)

  • Hi, Eva
I’ll be happy to meet for coffee. I have a 16 month old boy and expecting a baby in September. Would love to hear how do you manage two little kids! Olga
